Episode 75: In AWE of Suzie Henderson–Connectors Series
Suzie Henderson is finishing her second year serving as principal at Alto Park Elementary School in Rome, Ga. She spent her first 14 years serving as a Speech-Language Pathologist, and the next 7 years as an Assistant Principal. She is passionate about meeting the needs of the whole person, both the staff she is blessed to serve with and the students and families who make up Alto Park Elementary. One of her goals for Alto Park is to ensure all are learning about how trauma impacts students as it relates to them growing and becoming the amazing people they have the potential to become. She truly believes that all kids deserve our very best and it is how we relate to them and equip them that will determine their future success. She lives by the mantra that she wants to be for her teachers, students, and families who she needed when she was younger.
In this episode, Suzie gives us great insight into her journey to becoming an intentional connector in her personal and professional life. She shares with us several practical and purposeful ways to connect with others, and illustrates for us the power she has seen in the practice, especially during the COVID19 Pandemic. I love the way Suzie shares the challenges she has faced to become a connector, and her message inspires me to remember how important our impact is on one another always, and especially now. I am honored to share with you, my friend, Suzie Henderson’s Connector story.
