Episode 35: In AWE of Karen Caswell-Trailblazer Series
Karen Caswell is an experienced educator, passionate reader and lifelong learner. She is currently a Teaching and Learning Co-ordinator at a primary school on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. Karen is an Early Childhood trained teacher, who has also been privileged to work in a variety of roles and settings during her 24 year career. In October 2018, Karen started the #TLAPdownunder chat and community on Twitter, so that educators in Australia could be part of the extended #tlap community. The weekly chat has grown to include participants from not only Australia, but many countries where the time is more convenient than the USA chat. Karen is passionate about raising kind, caring and active young people who know how to advocate for themselves, champion others and make a positive impact on the world.
In this episode, we learn how Karen rediscovered her passion for teaching and has been working to build a network of support for others who have faced similar challenges that she did in her journey. From her story we learn how we too can create space for others to grow together and heal ourselves in the process. I am honored to amplify for you, Karen Caswell’s Trailblazer story.
