A Note from Sarah:
In this episode, I reference that Liz’s advice at the end of being your true self when she references her pink hair hit me hard. In my first principalship district, I had a solid handle on my style of leadership, and I had also passionately participated in a fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness, which is a
significant cause in my life with my cousin and aunt both dying from
complications associated with breast cancer. In fact, my cousin had passed
that first year of my principalship. Part of that fundraiser had me dying my
hair pink with highlights.
When I shifted to another district, the stronghold I had on myself as a leader became depleted for a wide range of reasons.
Hearing Liz pair the pink hair highlight to not losing yourself landed right in my heart. I am thankful for her story amplified, and I look forward to her written story of the trip she and her mom took together!
